Thanks to everyone who has signed up for the new dmb, your participation and feedback has been great!
Over the last week many minor bugs have been fixed and optimisations have been made.

New dmb is released

Finally the new version of dmb is released!

The main advantages of the new version, other than the cool new design, are:
– You can now upload your own images
– Users can make money with us by using their own Google AdSense ads on their image and profile pages
– The resolution filter is more intelligent; it crops as well as resizes, so the aspect ratio doesn’t get distorted like before
– There is an adult filter, so people accessing the website from work are safe

New dmb beta

The new beta is finally here!

With the new version you can add your own wallpapers, which are then added to your profile. Profiles are what categories used to be.

This will allow the amount of images to grow much faster than before and I hope it will be more satisfying for people to control their own images rather than have me put them up on their behalf. There is of course rating, commenting and all that good stuff.

If you have suggestions or find bugs please let us know.

New Website Concepts

Work has begun on complete overhauls of our websites.
These new websites will feature user-generated content which will allow them to grow much faster than before, as well as more closely-integrated social aspects like profiles, following users, etc.
This will be a big improvement and will help to connect our community.

Triple Monitor Backgrounds is now synchronized with the latest changes from dmb.
We’ve also added some more images to the Crafted Nature, Nature and Industrial categories.
Next will be qmb, not too far away.

Updates to dmb

We’ve just completed significant upgrades to dmb which increase speed and stability of the website, as well as some minor design improvements which will hopefully make the website even easier to use.
Over the next few days we will introduce the same changes to tmb and qmb as well.

Many thanks to sbillard, acrylian and kagutsuchi from the wonderful and free zenphoto – the photo gallery CMS – for their help with the upgrade.

New comments system

We have replaced the old comment system with DISQUS.
This will allow our users to connect with their existing DISQUS accounts as well as other accounts such as Facebook.
It also adds a lot of great comment functionality such as ordering, voting, filtering, etc.
The system is only on dmb so far and will be added to tmb and qmb soon.

RSS Feeds

RSS feeds and the links to them have been updated to be more intuitive and closely integrated with the website.

Resolution changes

The resolution preferences options have been changed. Some rarely-used ones have been removed and some more popular ones have been added.
